As many people probably are aware of, the mic jack on the sony a7 cameras (especially the a7iii) is quite fragile, and can't really take any abuse. Consequently mine broke, and I had to find a solution for it that did not involve sending my camera in for repair, or purhcasing a new camera. This system was my solution, and it might hands down be the best microphone system for the sony mirrorless system. I primarily purchased this unit for the XLR integration, not the included microphone, since I've got access to far nicer microphones at my job. However, I've used it with the included microphone, as well as with a sennheiser 416 in an interview setting, and in both situations it sounds incredible. Normalize the levels, add a compressor, and it sounds incredible. the K3M would likely be better in the future, because it comes with an extension cable for the hot shoe.Read full review
